Okay, so there is a first time for everything! I went to an orchard to buy some apples and came home with a 1/2 bushel of apples and 1 bushel of peaches. I decided I wanted to try and be "domestic" and attempt canning for the first time. I helped my mom can peaches when I was younger and I didn't remember to being too difficult.
The kids helped me can. Sydney's favorite is cutting. She has her own special knives that she loves to use! Kennedy helped me peel and Brayden helped by hanging in his highchair eating the peaches. He LOVES peaches, I couldn't believe how fast he would eat them! When we were finished we froze peaches, made peach-pineapple jam and canned 12 quarts. I thought it was surprisingly a lot of fun! I can't wait to try it again. :)
